Once you’ve settled into Highfield EcoNest, you may not want to leave.

You may choose to sit quietly under a tree and read, or splash in the creek. By night, some star gazing. But, if you fancy, we also offer the following tours and experiences if you’re looking for things to do.

Wander Bush Trails – FREE – self guided

Step out of your EcoNest accomodation and step into nature. We have around 14kms of well-marked trails in our farmland and conservation areas for you to explore. We provide maps and recommendations for sunsets!

You’ll see some of our incredible bird life and maybe a wombat or an echidna. You’ll definitely see ‘roos and wallabies! And if you want to venture a little farther, many of our trails link up to the neighbouring Ellerslie Nature Reserve. EPIRB beacons are available for hire.

Farming with Habitat Tour – 1 hour $50 per party

We’d be delighted to take you on a tour of our small-scale sustainable farm. You’ll meet our Dorper Sheep, Dexter Cattle and pasture-raised Chickens. Learn how we aim to farm with our endangered habitat to provide refuge for native wildlife and  to increase diversity. Suitable for both children and adults.

Indigenous Heritage Tour – under development

Highfield sits on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri Nation. We’re delighted to work with our local  Wiradjuri community who’ll guide you to the important cultural heritage on Highfield. You won’t see farmland the same way again. All fees go directly to the Indigenous Tour Operator.

Introduction to Bird Watching Tour – 0.5 hours $50 per party Includes binocular hire for your stay

So far, we’ve identified 127 different bird species at Highfield! David will introduce you to some of the threatened and rare bird species that live at Highfield. Then we will set you off, ‘free as a bird’ with binoculars and a map of bird hot spots and a bird list. Set forth and find the 128th species!
